Dear Friends of Lighthouse Baptist Church (LBC),

I would like to take a moment to once again welcome you to our web site. We consider it a great honor that you have chosen to visit us.

Allow me to introduce myself and our church.  I am Pastor Bart W. Spencer pastor of LBC. I was born December 22, 1961 and born again in November 1984.  I hail from Bethany, IL and am married to the former Suzan Davis, also of Bethany.   My dear wife and I were wed May 29, 1982 and now have seven children, Ryan and his sweet wife Ana, who just gave us our fourth granddaughter, Isabella Joy Spencer born on November 22, 2009.  Luke and his sweet wife Pong, Becky and her husband Dan, and Hannah.  Luke and Pong have given us three grandchildren Carter William, Lillian Grace & Titus James.

Nine years of our life together were spent in the United States Air Force during which time I was saved (via reading the gospel tract God xs Simple Plan of Salvation), called to preach, and my wife was born again.  I attended Mountain States Baptist College (www.fairview4u.org ) graduating in May 1995.

Our Lord moved our family to Holland, MI in 1997 to begin the Landmark Baptist Church.  At our 6th Anniversary weekend, in August 2003, we changed the name and chartered Lighthouse Baptist Church.  We are unashamedly Baptist and hold that the King James Version of the Bible is God as preserved Word for English speaking people.

We are conservative, yet spirited in our music employing both piano and organ and have no regret in singing the old hymns from the hymn book.  The salvation of the lost is the focus of our ministry with the teaching and training of the saved an inseparable part of our mission.
